Ordering
- Do you offer consultations or appointments?
- There is nothing to book and nowhere to attend. Medical foods are ordered like any other product. Prescription items are prescribed and shipped by our clinical partner after an online visit.
- What if an item needs a prescription?
- Its page says so. It is prescribed only if a licensed clinician from our clinical partner decides, after an online visit, that it is appropriate for you. If they decide it is not, it is not sent.
- Do you ship to my state?
- Orders ship within the United States. A prescription item can only be prescribed where a clinician is licensed to prescribe it.
- Do you take insurance?
- No. Everything is paid directly, and the price is stated before you pay.
- Can I pause or cancel?
- You can cancel at any time from your account: open Subscriptions and choose Cancel subscription. No phone call, no email, and nobody asks why.
Clinical
- What is a medical food?
- In United States law, a food formulated to be taken under a physician's supervision for the dietary management of a disease or condition with distinctive nutritional requirements. Medical foods are not drugs and are not FDA-approved. Each one in the shop states the condition it is for.
- What does compounded mean?
- A compounded preparation is made for an individual patient by a licensed pharmacy. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved as finished products. Where an item is compounded, its page says so.
- Compounded or brand-name — what is the difference here?
- Brand-name medicines such as Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved finished products. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared by a licensed pharmacy and are not. The shop lists both, priced separately, and each page says which it is.
